Update ..
Besides the many biting insects, human sized beetles, cockroaches and spiders, lizards, scorpions we are alive and well in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. :-)
We have been chasing absolutely gorgeous sunsets nightly. (actually Jacob and his sunset chasing reminds me of my dad making sure we don´t miss the sunsets on the Jersey shore.)
Jacob surfed for the first time and was an absolute natural! The instructor was so impressed he wanted to give Jacob another lesson for free so he could realize his surfing potential!!
One week Jacob, I and our friend Andrew provided free chiropractic care to the people of the San Juan del Sur community. We saw awesome, awesome things happen on the tables. Many people walked in one way and out as new men and women! Two days we went into the schools of the farming communities and adjusted all the children. As alwyas, it was a joy to serve the children. Many were super curious about the spine and the function of the nervous system. Perhaps we planted the seed for a future career in chiropractic for one of the children ....
We are moving on to Costa Rica in a few days.
Happy Thanksgiving!!! We may not have turkey but Jacob will FOR SURE find some mashed potatoes ......

Southern most city in the world to Buenos Aires
We spent the last week in Ushuaia, Argentina, the southern most city in the world. We spent a couple of days just relaxing enjoying the views of the Beagle Channel from our hostel then spent a couple of days climbing mountains. We have some funny pictures of us ¨sledding¨down the mountain in our ski pants. We met some fabulous people at the hostel. My stomach still hurts from laughing so hard.
GREAT NEWS! We found a shop that was able to restore about 1/2 of the pictures we thought were deleted. We do not have the ability to upload on this computer but hopefully will be able to upload some pics soon.

we are back safe and sound ...
We had a great time trekking through the Torres del Paine. We hiked 75 kilometers (about 45 miles) over five days through rain, snow, wind and sun. We saw glaciers, mountains of all shapes and sizes that blew us away, caribbean blue lakes, streams and rivers. It was a very challenging and rewarding experience. We have some pictures to post but unfortunately while trying to figure out the settings of the camera Jacob unknowingly deleted the entire South American trip of nearly 900 photos and fifteen minutes of video footage. OOOOPS!!! The good news is ...
Love,
Maura and Jacob
- we had plenty of space for the last day of our hike
- we have plenty of space for the rest of our trip through South America and Central America
- the slideshow will be half as long as originally intended
- we don´t have to buy another flash card
- we can now laugh about it
Love,
Maura and Jacob

A long overdue post ... Argentina is the current location ..
After typing for some time, Maura lost the post on the crazy computer and we were a bit dismayed. We are currently in Bariloche, Argentina, which is aboslutely breathtaking. We will re-update when we are not mad at the computer anymore. We are making are way very south today (Sunday). Our original plan to go by boat in Chile cannot happen, so we will be in a bus for almost 30 hours and will arrive in El Calafate, Argentina. There we will see one of the last advancing glaciers in the world. We will post some new pics soon as there have been some amazing views.
